What I never knew about manifesting

As I tapped today my reflections were not about trauma but about manifesting. I was really surprised at how relevant the words and theme of the video felt to this subject when, on the surface, it couldn’t be less related to trauma. It left me wondering; when working on manifesting, am I actually creating a trauma imprint in my body?

Now just to be clear I believe that manifesting can be a great force for good in our lives and we can do some exceptional things with it but I think depending on how we view it, it can also have a darker side.

Personally I’ve always found that when I focus on manifesting I start from a joyful and fun energy but very quickly start to feel pressure to create my future and blame for creating my past. On an energetic level these are exactly the feelings we connect with in this week’s videos as we tap on trauma. Incidentally they’re not feelings from which anything good is manifested and they are not much fun to live with!

Manifesting came up for me today because it’s very current in my life as I create a new group programme and grow my business. In a way it felt reassuring to me that this came up because it felt like an indication that past traumas have now been cleared enough that they aren’t jumping straight up for me even in a tapping about trauma. I’m sure there will be further triggers and more work to do on them at some point in my life but right now, they’re not running my life, the tapping has worked!

The pressing appearance of manifesting as I tapped has really intrigued me though. Is it that there’s a similarity between manifesting and trauma? Or is it just that manifesting is so current in my life that it would have come up no matter what we tapped on this week? Or could it be that some old patterns created in times of trauma are jumping in when I come to manifest? Do our old patterns affect the way we approach manifesting?

My guess would be this last one. We know that our trauma patterns have a much wider reach than just the area of life in which we experienced trauma and perhaps this week’s tapping could be a great tool to highlight where they’re impacting us most. Try tapping along without a specific incident or time in mind and just notice what comes to mind. Is it an incident or is it something that seems quite unrelated to past trauma? Or is it nothing at all? That’s fine too. As you tap allow yourself to see and unpick the patterns that aren’t serving you in your life.

As I continued tapping through the deep dive video we looked at the idea of not having control, among other things. We approached this from the perspective of learning to feel safe anyway but after the shifts I felt in the first video, I noticed that I was able to feel much more joy in the idea of not having control, much more of an energy of co-creation, of freedom and play. Something big definitely shifted for me this week and I can’t wait to see what comes in as a result. How about you?
